SkipLink
A keyboard affordance that jumps past the navigation to the page's main region.
Web
The DOM renderer, with the browser-only parts.
Install
npm install @asheeui/webImport
import { SkipLink } from "@asheeui/web/section-kit";The first focusable control on a page, pointing at the main region.
The name exists only in the web renderer; the umbrella does not carry it.
- It compensates for the browser's tab order, so the platform renderer does not publish it.
Read the web guide for installation, styling and the platform's behaviour outside a single component.
A skip link is the first thing a keyboard reaches: a control that exists so a reader can leave the navigation without tabbing through it. It is invisible until focused, and it points at the id of the main region.
import { SkipLink } from "@asheeui/web/section-kit";
<SkipLink targetId="main" label="Skip to content" />;
Why it is web-only
A skip link compensates for a browser's tab order. The platform's focus order and accessibility rotor
move through a screen without a document landmark to skip to, so the platform package does not publish
the name at all. asheeui/section-kit therefore does not carry it, and a shared file that imports it is
correctly a compile error on a device.
